Short flax fiber, depending on the quality indicators, is divided into five numbers – 8, 6, 4, 3 and 2.  The length of the fiber ranges from 10 to 50 cm. The production of fiber is carried out at the enterprises of primary processing by means of flax grinding on a crushing machine and scutching on a scutching machine.

Application

Short flax fiber is used for dry spinning yarns with low numbers.  It is used for the production of sack, container and canvas fabrics.  Short fiber is used for the production of nonwovens, which have a very wide range of applications, as well as for the production of paper.  Linen fiber is used for the production of twisted products: twine, ropes.  Also, this fiber is used for the production of cottonized fiber and cotton wool.  The fiber can be used for plumbing purposes.  It is also used as a raw material for the production of fiber-reinforced polymer composites and fiber boards.  They are used in the production of a large number of parts (heat and sound insulating) and parts from plastic compositions for the bodies of cars, airplanes, ships, and cars.
